First Day of School!

For Marcus, that is.

Grace is still in Israel.

She was in Poland for ten days helping the family with an FCA camp and they visited Slovenia, Austria, and Prague before heading back to Jerusalem. She will be back in a bit. Not soon enough, though!

I thought I'd share how yesterday went.

I do not know what is wrong with my camera. It has been blurry since a couple of weeks ago when I had it outside one evening.

Crap. It won't even focus. This sucks. I bet it has moisture in it but it's already been two weeks.

After two weeks, surely it would have dried by now. Great. I  don't even know if there is a camera store here. I hope it won't cost too much.
Insert conversation with my friend Angela - "Take off the lense and let it dry out for a few minutes, but not too long or dust could get in." I proceed to tell her it's still blurry and won't even focus. "Laurie, are you sure you have Automatic Focus switched on?" Well of course I do, I always do, but let me check. CRAP. It's on Manual Focus. Angela - hehehe, haha, and all sorts of other laughter and mocking!

Ha. I can't believe I did that. Actually, I am surprised that somebody else did that. Because, I surely would not have.
So, here we go again. Only today, Marcus had to be there 45 min earlier to get picked up by the appropriate teacher. Can you tell he's tired. Don't worry about the duster in the back. That's actually a
big deal because I never dust.

"Smile Marcus." He's definitely going to bed earlier tonight.

Oh well.

Moved

We moved exactly three weeks ago.

Now, we only moved one hour away, but one hour is enough to have to change almost everything; school, church, work, and of course where I shop! They literally have everything and more here, versus where we lived before - thank goodness.

It's convenient, but its country. Way country. Don't get me wrong, I love the country. I love the city too but that's a whole different thing. We went from about a 2300 square feet house and .02 acres to about 2700 square feet and 3.6 acres. Jason mowed half the yard in over two hours yesterday. That was mainly because he got a new zero turn lawn mower and was like a kid at Christmas. It was a little cute if you ask me! The only thing I'm not quite used to is itching. I swear I feel like I have bugs crawling on me all the time. I'm hoping it's just the hot and the humidity. But, I'm afraid it's the COUNTRY!

OH…Grace is visiting Auschwitz today. I'm a little jealous.

Hmm. Who would have ever thought he'd be so excited about this?

Don't ask

I don't know how the heck I wrote in February that I am going to be updating more often. Now it's June.

I know I don't have to explain anything. We have been gearing up for a our big move in a couple of weeks. Well, it's only 1 hour south of here, but that is enough to have to change almost everything; church, school, and even some friends! I am slowly packing this week while Marcus is at camp daily. Grace has not helped at all. Seriously. I think it has to do with being fresh out of school and wanting to lay around for a bit. I agree. I just finished a semester of full time school and that is probably to blame for my lack of physical labor around our house.

I'll post more about our move soon. This move means we have no vacation planned in the next month or two, but Grace has some pretty exciting adventures coming up. We decided to let her loose for a bit so she can spend six weeks with my family in Israel. In July they will be visiting Poland, Austria, and Prague. I'm slightly jealous. I'm planning something this fall for Jason and I. I don't care what…just something. I'm hoping to do Italy or Amsterdam during the winter with my exchange student friends. I'm kind of excited about the idea of going anywhere right now. It's been too long and we are ready to get the heck out of dodge so to speak. I'll definitely keep you informed.

I'm back!

It's been a long time.

For a while now I've been wanting, or should I say, feeling like I need to, delete my Facebook. I can honestly say I don't get any good from it. I'm nosy, critical, nosy, and so judgemental of all that I see on there. Yes, I laugh a lot and LOVE seeing my friend's pictures! But I waste SOOOOOO much time on there. I have just felt like it was something I needed to do for a while now. The only thing I am going to miss is the people who I probably won't be emailing because FB is our only means of communication, and announcements. Book Club is my only event page that I am actively involved in. I can email with that group, though. I think I've made a good choice, and of course I can always jump on Jason's if I absolutely need to see something!

This means I plan on using the blog more. Hopefully getting Grace involved because she is going to be at home more too. Yesterday was her last day at her school and I'm homeschooling her again. It has been a long hard week but Jason and I are sure we made the right decision for her. She is still a little upset but she is an emotional roller coaster right now! I'll update more on that decision and why later.

Because I always love seeing pictures on blogs, I'll leave you with a picture we had taken at church.
