Itouch

My almost 12 year old has begged for an Ipod Touch for some time now. We got her one for Christmas, after much consideration.

She does not have a cell phone because we do not see the need. I am not jumping on the bandwagen just because all of her friends have one. YES, all of her friends except one. Seriously. In my opinion, some parents make things a lot harder on others! I also know there are exceptions, I do realize that, I promise.

I take her to school. I pick her up from school. I take her to and from all her basketball and soccer games/practices. So why would she need a cell phone?

Back to the Itouch. I have been laughing descretely at the funny things she is doing with it.

Make your own drawings.

Whew! Praise God the girl is not boy crazy…yet.

We both do.
And my personal favorite. Wait for it…FAT FACE!

JUST SO YOU KNOW…IF YOU SHARE THIS PICTURE,
OR THIS ONE, WITH ANYONE, I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!

  1. Here in my town, I know lots of 12 year olds who do not have phones, so your girl is not alone. We haven't decided when our girls will get phones, but it won't be before age 13 and possibly not then either.

  3. I hear ya on he phone thing. We take Rachel everywhere she needs to go so she isn't out of touch. Most of her friends have cell phones. We started a "leave it on the counter" rule with her friends. When they come in, they put their phone on the counter in the kitchen. They can leave the ringer on and answer it if they want. If they don't like the rule, they can choose not to come over. We have had a couple instances where Rachel and a friend got in trouble texting. It wasn't anything really bad, but there were a lot of "I didn't do it" and "I was just there" to mess with it. I have let her text her cousin from my phone, but that is enough. You have to draw the line somewhere.
