We try to share the general stuf...What a great kid! We try to share the general stuff with our kids -- e.g. "We can't do this because it costs X amount." or "We have to decided between this and this because we can only spend X dollars." The girls are usually happy to help however they can.<br /><br />When our older girl got her braces, the first time she complained about them, I told her exactly how much the braces are costing us and explained that I never got braces when I was her age because my parents couldn't afford them.
